Who I’d Most Like To Cook With

Cooking doesn’t always have to be a one-person deal. What brings people closer together than food? Cooking with others can be fun, especially if you’re with the right people. I first got this idea from Jessica to think about who I’d most like to cook with. All I can say is I better start cleaning up if any of these people were coming over.

Oprah Winfrey:

Why: It’s Oprah. She owns the world along with the OWN Network and probably has every famous person in her cell phone. We have absolutely nothing in common to talk about, so I’d just ask her incessant questions about her camping trip with Gayle(remember those magical episodes?) and when she’s going to run for president.

What we’d make:

Oprah and I share a clear affection for a certain orange spud, so naturally Sweet Potato Rounds would be on the menu. She’d probably want to eat pretty healthy, so we’d also make Balsamic Brussel Sprouts with Red Wine and Maple-Soy Chicken.

Suze Orman:

Why: Suze Orman scares me to death. I’m not even kidding about that; if I saw her walking down the street I’d probably hustle over to the other sidewalk(don’t act like you don’t do that to people you don’t want to talk to). But she would get me to make that kitchen spick and span; there wouldn’t be a better organized pantry after she’s through with me.

What we’d make: I’d be terrified to serve Suze anything that costs more than $5 to make but still want to impress her with flavors so I’d focus on all-in-one dishes like Chickpeas with Sole and Spinach and Vegged-Out Quinoa.

Paula Deen:

Why: Who could say no to the butter queen, ya’ll? Paula and I share a love of all things fat and sweet, just like us. She’s also a big Kathy Griffin fan, and like Kathy Griffin has quite the potty mouth when you get her off camera. What wouldn’t be fun about that?

What we’d make: When you have Paula Deen in the kitchen, you really need to go big or go home. Fudge Pies, Microwave Fudge, Outrageous Triple Chocolate Brownies—and those would just be the appetizers.

Who would you most like to cook with?

I love that you are scared of Suze Orman and wouldn’t make her anything over $5. As a college student that’s a wise decisions because she’d ask how you are going to live life after college with expensive taste if you made anything else.

Haha yeah, Suze is intense! 😀

I’d love to cook with Nigella Lawson, Emeril Lagasse, and Curtis Stone.

This is a fun post – great choices! I’d be interested in cooking with Michael Pollan b/c of his food knowledge, Curtis Stone b/c he’s just downright scrumptious, Ming Tsai b/c I just ate at Blue Ginger last night and everything was phenomenal (go if you haven’t already!), and Bobby Flay b/c I need to work on my grilling skills. Hmmm… they’re all men so far. Let’s add Nigella Lawson to that list b/c she enjoys food so much – just like me!

Did you just call yourself fat?
I’d like to take Bobby Flay into the kitchen, and perhaps cook with him…but otherwise, I’d just like to do horrible, awful things. 🙂

    Paula Deeeeeen!
I’d say Rachael Ray, because she wouldn’t let me get a word in edgewise.
    Suze Orman is quite scary!

    Ina Garten!

I dont really think Oprah can cook. Every time I hear her talk about food i always think, really? Then again, I dont watch her show that often anymore so maybe she can cook. What do i know.

Clearly paula d can cook and she’d be awesome to cook with!

And i love Suze O. Love.Her. Always have!!!! What a tough broad. And I love that about her 🙂

Fun post! Suze Orman totally scares me too…when I see her on the Today show I need to change the channel. Oprah and Paula Dean would be so fun to cook with!
I think your next post should be who you wouldn’t want to cook with – for me, that would be Rachel Ray. She annoys me to no end 😉

I used to think the same thing about Rachel Ray…but I actually kind of like her now…? (still a question mark!).

I kind of like that she doesn’t have a huge background and didn’t just get her own show or whatever overnight…of course being on Oprah kicked it all off.

How do I get on Oprah?!! 🙂

I’d die to cook with Paula Dean. She is easily the most entertaining on the Food Network! And you KNOW whatever we make is gonna be rich and decadent!
