Sunday Confessional

I can’t eat bread, but I purposely extend my running route to run past this bakery just to smell the French baguettes hot from the oven. There’s no harm in smelling.

Sometimes I’ll eat a meal out of a frying pan because I don’t want to dirty any dishes.

I often go to Starbucks everyday to work for hours without buying anything; who can afford a coffee habit like that?

I made these shortbread cookies last weekend, and while they tasted great they came out flat. I’m working on trying again, but that’s a lot of butter to eat through first.

If you tell me you prefer white meat over dark meat, I’ll assume you’re lying.

I love the smell of fresh bread too!

I honestly do prefer white meat over dark. And I hate eating meat that isn’t boneless. I used to babysit for a family that always made chicken thighs on the bone. My worst nightmare.

Thanks for visiting my blog! Shortbread is always yummy…even if it doesn’t always come out how we want it to ;)! Here is one of my recipes if you are interested: http://fragrantvanillacake.blogspot.com/2010/06/chinese-5-spice-shortbread.html

It works every time, and if you want plain shortbread omit the 5 spice!

Eating straight out of the pan is very eco-friendly. I did it constantly when single and some days still do it so Hunni has less dishes.

    Love the Starbucks story 🙂

My confessional, not that you asked for any…sort of posted about this today but hey…I do not understand the point of watching sports for 3 hours. At all. I must be missing something. I dont understand why that could be fun. I prefer to shop, cook, read blogs, anything but that!

    Have a great Sunday 🙂

Followed you over from How Sweet It Is. Since this is my first time here, I’m going to hazard a guess and say you’re either Celiac or have a gluten allergy. I sympathize! My daughter was born with an allergy and, because I’m nursing her, I have to avoid gluten, too! And I totally go by the bakery just to smell and remember, too! But, lucky for me, I will eventually be able to return to eating wheat and such since it’s my daughter’s allergy and not mine. If you get a chance, check out this website:

    http://www.eatingglutenfree.com/

They have some AWESOME gluten-free recipes. (No, I’m not affiliated with them, I just love to share what I’ve found that’s been helpful in this new lifestyle.)

Yay for shortbread!! Evan, if those are the deepest, darkest confessions you have, you need to spend more time in the candy aisle! : )

I can’t eat bread either (because of the yeast) and I totally like the smell of freshly baked bread. Now, one thing I also like to smell… freshly made waffle cones, that is an amazing smell too.
And hey, shortbread cookies are supposed to be flat, aren’t they? Yours look great by the way!
I like your blog and the way you write, really cool!

I absolutely LOVE the smell of yeasty baked bread! My friends make fun of me all the time because I always have to smell everything. I literally walk around the baked goods isle and smell the organic chocolate cake/ carrot cake/ banana bread/ sourdough, rye, multi grain etc through the plastic wrapping. I also love smelling protein bars. It has because so common, that when my friends buy a bar they automatically unwrap it, bite and then pass it over so I can smell it. There is something so delightful and joyous about the smell of baked goods, breads and chocolate!
I walk by a french bakery in the early mornings, and it always smells so good!
